St. Tropez: Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous

St. Tropez, in the French Riviera, is a hot spot for the well-heeled. It’s glamorous, luxurious, and always on point. It’s settled on the tip of the coastline with colorful historic buildings and a magnificent harbor where sitting at one of the crowded cafes is a rite of passage.

If you want to indulge in serious eye candy, look no further than Pampelonne beach. It’s a crescent-moon shaped white sand beach and is also one of the most recognized beaches on earth. For the perfect viewing spot, dine at one of the restaurants overlooking the azure sea. One of the most top-rated restaurants is the French bistro Le Suffren Café, run by 3-star Michelin star chef Georges Blanc.

If you’re around in the nighttime, the celebrities head over to the popular clubs edging the beach. There are a few places you need to drop by if you want to mingle with the rich and famous. The first stop is always Les Caves du Roy, located in the posh Hotel Byblos. Dress to the nines (or eccentric) and glide your way past the selective doorman for free entry and to mingle with the jet-set. Drinks are expensive, but sometimes it’s the necessary price to pay. Another good spot is the VIP Room Club, loved by the well-off trendsetters and frequented after midnight. Almost disgustingly fashionable and high-end, expect your wallet to be noticeably lighter after an evening here. Papagayo is essentially a St. Tropez institution at this point. Love and memories to last a lifetime have been made here. Known for its open music style, it’s all about dancing until the sun has well risen.

Let’s not forget about the shopping! The main luxury fashion establishments have all laid claim in this resort area. Towards the beachfront is where the main bulk of stylish boutiques are sitting on the beach and the adjacent alleyways. The Rue du General Allard, made up of winding streets in the old town, is where you can find the small shops hiding gems. Rue Gambetta is your spot for the designer labels. A diversion from the high-end shopping, be sure to check out the open-air market featuring over 100 stalls at the Place des Lices on Tuesday and Saturday mornings.

It’s hard to resist the electric atmosphere here at St. Tropez, French Riviera. If you want to be in the middle of action, come in mid-summer when celebrities are in abundance. Happy travels!
