South Carolina
Mr. Dion,
I was recently at Bartram's Garden and learned of your trip. Where will your journey will take you in South Carolina? Will you be retracing John's Congaree and Wateree trip? I am a botanist in Columbia, SC and would be glad to help out if I can.
Good Luck,
Ron Chicone

Re: South Carolina
Dear Ron Chicone,
Thank you for your inquiry and offer to help. My plan is to take several three week journeys over the next year. We are currently focusing on the western extent of William Bartram's travels. Should we find ourselves in your neck of the woods come springtime we might give you a call. I'm sorry we can't be more precise with our itinerary, but you can follow our travels here. Thanks for your generous offer.
Yours Sincerely,
Mark Dion

Hi Mark,
We would be interested in having you address our annual Bartram Day event in western NC if it coincides with your Travels. The event is usually at the end of May when the gorgeous Flame Azaleas are in full, glorious bloom in the Nantahala National Forest.

We were delighted to read of your project to breathe extended life into Billy's 18th century journeys.

Please contact me as soon as possible to discuss a possible date for our meeting that will be held in Franklin, NC.

Best of luck with your very unique project.

Hi Mark, I am researching environmental identity as it connects to artists and wondered if your childhood experiences gave you a strong environmental identity.

Your trips are very inspiring, thanks for allowing us (as viewers) to follow along.
